Eid al-Fitr was originated by the Islamic prophet Muhammad and is a time where Muslims give their thanks to Allah and donate money to the poor. On the day of Eid al-Fitr, Muslims gather in mosques to perform the Eid prayer, Salat, before throwing family celebrations and sharing food with friends.
